Are the pins on the YIKONG YK4101 RC Car Aluminum Vertical Universal Shaft (Part No. 13040) likely to fall out?

Under normal conditions, the pins on the YIKONG YK4101 RC Car Aluminum Vertical Universal Shaft (Part No. 13040) are not likely to come loose. As long as the shaft is installed correctly and the retaining structure is not worn or damaged, it should perform reliably during everyday driving, light off-road use, and rock crawling.

If you notice a loose pin, first check whether the universal shaft is installed properly and inspect both the pin and the surrounding components for signs of wear. Frequent hard driving, heavy impacts, or prolonged high-load use can also increase the chance of the pin becoming loose over time. Regularly inspecting the YIKONG YK4101 RC Car Aluminum Vertical Universal Shaft (Part No. 13040) and replacing worn parts when necessary will help keep the drivetrain of your YIKONG YK4101 RC Car running reliably.

Some experienced DIY enthusiasts also machine a small groove into each end of the pin and install E-clips (retaining clips) to keep it in place. This modification can further reduce the risk of the pin coming out, but it requires careful machining. Avoid removing too much material, as excessive grinding may weaken the pin.
