Introduction：
The MJX 7303 front bumper skid plate protects the front splitter, preventing deformation and damage caused by impacts, and reducing abrasion from ground contact.
It is easy to install and directly replaces the original factory foam, allowing for non-destructive installation.
Because the skid plate sits lower than the front splitter, it may contact the ground during hard braking or extreme-angle drifting. It is recommended to adjust the front shock preload after installation to increase ground clearance.
How to install?
Remove the screws inside the ring, then take off the upper and lower foam guards and remove the impact-absorbing foam. After installing the front splitter skid plate, reinstall the parts to complete the installation.
Q1: Will removing the foam lining affect the body shell strength?
A: The original factory foam provides extremely limited protection for the body shell. It cannot protect the shell immediately upon impact; instead, it is designed more to protect the frame rather than the shell itself.
Additionally, the foam lining only becomes effective when the shell has already undergone severe deformation, which is essentially meaningless as the shell is already damaged.
In most collision scenarios, the impact first hits the front lip of the shell, followed by the front section of the vehicle. The front section features a double-layer structure with high strength, so it is unlikely to be damaged during normal use.
Q2: Why isn't TPU soft material used?
A: As the name suggests, the front lip protector is primarily intended to safeguard the front lip—not to remain intact while the front lip is destroyed.
In the event of a collision, the protector must provide strong support to prevent excessive deformation of the fragile front lip, which would otherwise lead to damage.
If TPU soft material were used, it would fail to offer sufficient rigid support to the front lip. This would typically result in the front lip being destroyed while the protector remains largely undamaged, which is a case of putting the cart before the horse.
